DEE POINT PRIMARY SCHOOL IN BLACON IMPROVES
ITS PLAY AREAS TO MAKE SCHOOL MORE FUN
7th July 2010
A CHESTER primary school has grown into an outstanding provider of fun under its current head teacher.
Dave Williams joined Dee Point Primary School, Blacon, Chester, in September 2004 when the school was subject to an Ofsted notice to improve.
Since then, the school has become an outstanding provider, and continues to extend play facilities with new equipment.
A tyre park and timber trail were added to develop the children’s mental and physical abilities.
The school then commissioned an outdoor classroom in the form of a gazebo, goal targets, seating, ball shoots, canopy, driving track and, most recently, picnic tables.
Mr Williams said the whole school has benefited from the progressive outdoor playground improvements, which has made every day “a fun day”.
“I am truly delighted to have quality playground equipment,” he added.
“It has helped the school achieve its aim to become an outstanding school in October 2009 which makes a significant difference to the life chances of the pupils and their families.”
